These terms govern your use of CircuitPi. By creating an account or using the simulator, you agree to them.
The service
CircuitPi is a browser-based simulator for GPIO circuits and embedded electronics. It's provided for educational and prototyping purposes — behavior in the simulator is a best-effort approximation of real hardware, not a certified or exact replica, and shouldn't be relied on as the sole validation step before building or deploying real hardware.
Accounts
- You're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for activity on your account.
- Institution accounts (students, teachers) are provisioned and managed by that institution's administrator, who is responsible for their members' conduct within the platform.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts used to violate these terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent usage limits.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to build, share, or promote anything unlawful or harmful.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' accounts or data.
- Reverse engineer or scrape the service beyond ordinary browser use.
- Misrepresent your affiliation with an institution to gain access to plan features you haven't been granted.
Plans & billing
Free-tier use is available to anonymous visitors and registered individuals, subject to a daily usage limit. Paid institution plans are arranged directly with us and billed outside this website — pricing shown on the site is indicative and confirmed when you contact us. We may change plan pricing or features going forward; changes won't retroactively alter an active agreed term without notice.
Your content
You retain ownership of the circuits and code you create and save. By saving a project, you grant us the limited right to store and display it back to you (and, for institution/classroom examples, to the students/teachers your institution admin has made it visible to) as part of operating the service.
Disclaimer of warranty
The service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We don't guarantee the simulator is uninterrupted, error-free, or an exact match for real hardware behavior.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CircuitPi and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, including reliance on simulated hardware behavior when building real projects.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
